Legacy of Love

We are  unashamed and unapologetic that  Global Peace Leadership Academy is a Legacy of Love. The special essence and integrity of our work is Love. Our ancestors knew that Love was the energy that activated our self-healing potential and possibility. It is a love that is Divinely genetic. It is the parent’s love that sacrifices everything, including their own lives to make a better way for their child(ren). It is the love in the enslaved that allowed them to dare to learn to read. It is the love that allows one to see excellence when one can only see the blockage. It is the Love in Grandma’s hands that reaches out and touches you while saying, “Baby you can do this or don’t let nobody tell you, you can’t.” Love is that which is the best of our being.

It is the love of our children that allowed Asa Hilliard to note that, I have never encountered any children in any group who are not geniuses. There is no mystery on how to teach them. The first thing you do is treat them like human beings and the second thing you do is love them.  It is love that allowed Joyce King to assert that education for liberation requires rewriting knowledge.  It is love that shaped Jake Carruthers belief that a reawakened education would be a major factor in rescuing the world. Love is the medicine that Ruth Love gave to school districts that had succumbed to failure and apathy. It is loving that Wade Nobles, father of founder Zetha Nobles, stands in when he requires teachers to be in love with children if they are going to truly ignite their passion to learn and desire to know. It is Love that allowed Adelaide Sanford to become the image of excellence. She said, “I wear beads and bangles in my hair to represent the okra seeds and yam tubers our ancestors kept in theirs as they traveled here from home… We must pass on these things to the next generation.”  Seeing their genetic genius, inspired by love, allows Vera Nobles, mother of founder Zetha Nobles, to assert that not only can every child learn, they can learn everything.

Dr. Lendy Jones , Dr.  Harrison Jones, IV’s  mother stated that “No one rises to low expectations.”   It is love that allowed Harrison Jones ,III to serve 37 years serving in the military and preaching for the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research.  It is love that shaped Portia Talley’s desire to engage in education teaching French  and law to represent educators across the State of Texas.

It was love that served as the key pillar of CACSEA’s Nsaka Sunsum Educational Pedagogy and Process for Educational Excellence. Asa G. Hilliard, Joyce King, Jake Carruthers, Ruth Love, Wade Nobles, Adelaide Sanford, Vera Nobles were all pillars of Love and the CACSEA experience of crafting educational excellence.

The Global Peace Leadership Academy stands on the shoulders of these academic scholar/intellectuals and others. As acts of love, they individually and collectively activated the potential of generations. They left a legacy which is our destiny to fulfill. Love is both destiny and legacy.
